Coda Development was founded in 1998 with the purpose of developing residential condominiums.  The same year, Coda began working on the first new construction urban loft in Nashville.  That development, West End Lofts, was a great success and led to similar developments in the Vanderbilt area including West End Lofts II and Midtown Lofts as well as City View Lofts in Historic Edgefield. Coda is currently working on two new luxury condominium developments, The Whitney in Green Hills and 112 Harding Place in Belle Meade. Our third new project, Camden Commons at Gateway Village is a lifestyle center including retail and urban lofts in Franklin, TN.

Lynn Ellsworth and Amy Smith, Coda's founders, have a long history in development companies, having previously managed Company Stores Development Corp (CSDC).  Mr. Ellsworth founded CSDC in 1976 to develop outlet shopping centers.  Over the next 21 years, CSDC developed 23 shopping centers in thirteen states.  Mrs. Smith joined CSDC in 1989.  After divesting all of the shopping centers by the late 90s, the development focus of CSDC changed to niche residential and became Coda Development.
